This Metaltis carabiner (also known as festoon hook or snap hook) has a user-friendly and reliable "Twist-lock" locking mechanism. How does it work? Turn the lock a quarter of a turn to open the gate and release to close it. Carabiners are mainly used for load securing in combination with a tie-down strap, but they can be used for other purposes. Also available without a locking mechanism or with a screwgate mechanism (the latter closes, unlike this Twist Lock carabiner, by turning the screw several turns - and therefore cannot be opened at once).
